“On Top of the World” Summit Elementary Leadership Day

Summit Elementary recently hosted its annual Leadership Day. Summit’s Leadership Day is an opportunity for students to showcase the projects, clubs, activities, and opportunities that make up the school culture. Students shared with their parents, friends, and community members leadership projects they have been working on throughout the academic year. During the event, students engaged their audience by demonstrating samples of rigorous and hands-on learning projects related to 21st century learning.

The event was entirely student led with the young leaders actively taking part in introducing each visitor to their school and ensuring they were fully immersed in the school culture. Summit students confidently approached Leadership Day visitors, guiding them through the stations and engaging them in interesting and pointed discussion surrounding their particular class or group project.

The day showcased the innovating learning environment at Summit Elementary with every student shining as not only young “leaders of tomorrow”…but also as “leaders of today”.

“Here at Summit Elementary, we want to convey the idea that leadership is communicating people’s worth and potential so clearly that they are inspired to see it in themselves. We will adopt this philosophy into all that we do through the use of incorporating seven highly effective habits.” (
