Discover how our kids are being empowered to create their future!
Report from 2-5-15 Meeting.
The committee received an update on LINKS from Ryan Kelly, Director of Business Services. Mr. Kelly discussed no longer printing paystubs in the future since approximately 80% of employees have direct deposit and the information is still available to employees on Employee Online. This will result in a cost savings of around $360 per month. The. Instructional videos will be produced soon to assist employees with signing into Employee Online and navigating the various features, once there. More information will be coming out in the next few months.
Timecard online is still progressing toward full implementation by December 2015.
Credit cards were then discussed. Issues with reconciliation with banks were getting sorted out. Training is being designed for those who will use cards. The concept behind the cards is to begin replacing local purchase orders. The approval system will still be in place to ensure accountability, but there should be less paperwork. If someone does not turn in paperwork in a timely manner or uses the card for other than its intended purpose, the card can be shut off.
Kelly Eastes, Director of Community Partnerships, showed the group Staff News. A weekly email sent through the FirstClass system to all employees. This new communication tool will deliver stories on happenings around the district as well as information important to the majority of employees. It will be sent out every Friday.
The group was encouraged to seek feedback from their peers and to look for story ideas to be turned into content. If you have a story idea, please submit it at least one week prior to its potential inclusion in the email. Community Relations will serve as editor on Staff News and will produce it.
