The mission of the Compact Steering Committee is to ensure a culture of excellence through systemic continuous improvement and the collaborative governance model aligned with Baldrige principles through the Compact.

Superintendent Steve Hopkins opened the meeting by welcoming the group and reviewing the minutes and norms for Compact Steering. Upon approval of the minutes the group discussed informational items as a follow-up from previous meetings.

During the November meeting the group was tasked with reviewing the “Changes to the Compact” document written by Doreen McGlade. After doing so, the Compact Steering Committee approved the document and NCSD Community Relations will make the document available via the NCSD website, First Class folder, and via a Staff Bulletin Board posting.

Continuing forward in their purpose of ensuring a culture of excellence through systemic continuous improvement the Compact Steering Committee worked in small groups to create working goals for the upcoming year. During the next committee meeting the small groups will review their work and goal language will be finalized. Upon committee finalization, the working goals for the Compact Steering Group will be made available to interested parties.

The next Compact Steering Committee Meeting will be January 8, 2014 from 4:00-6:00 in the Fairdale Room.
