The mission of the Compact Steering Committee is to ensure a culture of excellence through systemic continuous improvement and the collaborative governance model aligned with Baldrige principles through the Compact.

Executive Director of Human Resources & Title I, Mike Bond, welcomed the committee members and reviewed the purpose of the Compact Steering Committee. Upon approval of the minutes the committee members discussed informational items from the previous meeting.

During the October committee meeting it was asked for Community Relations to communicate the Compact to NCSD employees, Trustees and community members. The Compact Steering committee discussed the desired location for posting of the Compact. The consensus was to provide employees with an easily accessible document via a desktop folder on First Class. Also, the committee agreed the Compact should remain on the website in order to remain transparent to community members, potential employees and Trustees with an interest in the information.

The Compact Changes document provided by Doreen McGlade was briefly reviewed and it was determined the committee will review the content and provide feedback for finalizing the document during the December meeting.

In other work, the committee divided into three groups in order to outline major goals (with subgroups) to prioritize work for the upcoming year. As the goals are still in the draft stages they will be published at a later date upon additional review of the committee.

The next Compact Steering Committee meeting will be on Dec. 11th, 2014 in the Fairdale Room at Central Services from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
