Who says playing with Legos won’t get you anywhere?
Some Casper elementary students are heading to the World Championship competition for First Lego Robotics League. The Summit Bionical Bison Green Jr. First Lego Robotic League team will travel to St. Louis this spring as one of only 40 teams worldwide to compete in this event. In addition, the Summit Elementary team is the only Wyoming team invited at this level this year.
The Summit Jr. FLL green team was chosen based on its internet Lego showcase for its natural disaster replica of a tornado’s fury. In December, the team was awarded the Solid as a Rock award for a model that was built to last with great ingenuity and creativity. On April 24 and 25, 2014, the team consisting of Konnor Barthlama, Jack Egan, Bradyn Adels, Kaitlyn & Kendra Barbarick and Kynlee Griffith will get a once-in-a- lifetime opportunity to represent Summit Elementary and the Natrona County School District with their synergy and leadership.
“Parents of these children and Summit staff are very proud and honored for the children to have this awesome opportunity. Parents and the participating students will be working diligently to raise funds for this trip,” said Anne LaPlante-Miles, Summit Elementary principal.
