Third Graders Shop for Kids in Need

Manor Heights’ 3rd grade raises money to buy gifts for others.

A few dozen elementary kids are going shopping this morning. Armed with the proceeds of their 50/50 raffle, third graders at Manor Heights Elementary are buying gifts for families who may be struggling this time of year. The students raised $3,433 for the 6th Annual Manor Heights 50/50 Raffle for the Salvation Army Giving Tree. Half of that pot goes to Sherri Lane, whose ticket was drawn from all the entries. The other $1,716.50 is added to the $3,702 in business donations to go shopping at Casper’s eastside WalMart. This is all part of the 3rd grade social studies curriculum where students learn how to be a helper in the community.

Manor Heights’ third grade students and teachers would like to thank the following Wyoming companies and personal donors for their support:

Sun Tan USA

Crimm Exploration Company

East Side Homes, Inc

Sierra West

609 Consulting, Inc.

Cowboy State Fitness

WalMart

RNT Consulting LLC

Cathy Behrens PC

Megan Burris
