HealthYOUth: Baby It’s Cold Outside

You may have noticed that Old Man Winter has arrived for a visit and he brought Jack Frost. It is important that your children have appropriate winter weather clothing as they are sent to school. This includes a warm coat, a hat and mittens every day. Snowpants and boots are also necessary if it is very cold, wet or snowy.

We all know that the weather in Wyoming can change very quickly. Students can go to school in sunshine and come home in a blizzard. Please monitor the weather daily so that your student can be prepared for the weather turning cold and windy. If your children have to wait at a bus stop for an extended amount of time, please be sure they are dressed for the weather. If it’s too cold, please consider making arrangements so that your children don’t have to stand outside for extended periods of time.

If your student needs warm clothing please contact the school nurse at your child’s school for more information and resources.
