NCSD Employees Support United Way

UnitedWay13PosterWhen a community builds up a child with the resources it can offer, a child helps build the community.

The Natrona County School District has kicked off its annual United Way employee campaign. As a pacesetter organization, our district is proud of the generosity of our employees for giving from the heart. Many of the 28 partner agencies the United Way supports assist the same families and children that our school system serves everyday.

NCSD’s campaign began with a potluck luncheon featuring “buck a bowl” soup, a 50/50 raffle, and a silent auction. The nearly 50 auction items were donated by staff members and local businesses and organizations. A complete list of prize donors can be found at the end of this article. Bidding was open for two weeks, generating more than $1,500 dollars once the auction ended. All together the luncheon and silent auction generated $1,858 for NCSD’s United Way campaign. A big thank you to the generous donors and those who bid on each item!

Many schools are coordinating their own activities to generate funds for United Way. Additional district events are in the planning phases for the spring.

Individual pledge forms have been distributed to each school and site. Employees have until Nov. 22, 2013 to complete the pledge forms and return them to their building representative.
