Discover how our kids are being empowered to create their future!
The dismissal bell has already sounded, yet there remains a flurry of activity in Amanda Yentes’ classroom at Mills Elementary. Dozens of kids are bopping around the room with bike helmets perched atop their heads. Others are waiting in line for their chance to get fitted for a new helmet.
These kids are part of a new running and biking after school club at Mills. Ms. Yentes says the club is for kids in grades 2-5 and will focus on physical fitness, to get the kids moving after school instead of plopped in front of the tv or video games. She said they will incorporate math concepts like calculating distance and angles.
Safe Kids of Central Wyoming provided each of the club members a new bike helmet.
