Discover how our kids are being empowered to create their future!
The Kelly Walsh and Natrona County boys and girls soccer teams are partnering for a fundraising event for a non-profit organization called “Fields of Dreams Uganda” on the two nights that the teams play each other this season. “Fields of Dreams Uganda” uses soccer and education as a means of providing HOPE for these children. One of its primary beliefs is that “HOPE is a basic need.”
The games are scheduled for April 11 at KW at 4 and 6 p.m. and May 2 at NC at 4 and 6 p.m. On those nights, the teams are asking the community to bring gently used soccer equipment that can be used for children ages 7 – 17. The equipment will be given to children that are in orphanages in Uganda. In addition, monetary donations by cash and check will be accepted to help pay for shipping and for the costs associated with the work they do on the ground in Uganda. All donations will be tax deductible and receipts will be given for all cash and check donations. Receipts for gear will be given upon request.
Fields of Dreams Uganda, Inc. (FoDU) is an organization that exists because it believes in the dreams of the orphaned and vulnerable children of Uganda. The staff and board of directors are committed to the goal of providing hope for these children so that they may believe that tomorrow has the potential of being better than yesterday.
