Third grade students used a social studies lesson in learning how to be a helper in the community to make a big difference for other kids in our community. The Manor Heights class sold 50/50 raffle tickets to raise money to buys gifts for those in need. In total, the kids raised $3,442 in ticket sales. Another $3,176 in business and personal donations were given. After splitting the 50/50 pot with the raffle winner, the class was able to spend $4,897 for gifts and donate them to the Salvation Army for its annual toy distribution.
